Ulrich Körner joined Motive Partners in 2026 and is an Industry Partner.

At Motive, Ulrich draws on his extensive background in banking, asset management and large scale business transformation to support value creation across the firm’s portfolio. Advising management teams on strategy execution, operational restructuring, risk management and sustainable growth, Ulrich leverages deep expertise across client-facing businesses as well as middle and back-office functions. His global perspective, shaped by significant experience in Europe, the U.S. and Asia, enables companies to navigate complex regulatory, market and organizational environments.

Previously, Ulrich served as Group Chief Executive Officer of Credit Suisse, where he led the firm through a critical turnaround period, resulting in the merger with UBS to create a leading global banking group. Prior to that, he held multiple senior leadership roles at UBS, including CEO of UBS Asset Management, CEO of UBS Europe, Middle East & Africa and Group Chief Operating Officer, CEO of Corporate Center, transforming the asset management business into a leading global platform. Ulrich also brings prior experience from senior roles at Credit Suisse, as well as earlier positions at McKinsey & Company and Revisuisse Price Waterhouse.

In addition to his executive career, Ulrich has served on numerous boards and advisory bodies across the financial services, pension, education and arts sectors, underscoring his commitment to governance, leadership development and cultural stewardship.

Ulrich holds a PhD and a Master’s degree in Economics from the University of St. Gallen in Switzerland.
