Ashwin Kumar joined Motive Partners in 2021 and is an Industry Partner.

In his capacity as an Industry Partner, Ashwin serves on the Board of Directors of Trumid. He previously served on the Board of Forge Global prior to its sale to Charles Schwab in March 2026. Ashwin has extensive experience across the full bandwidth of financial services including investing, trading and technology, having built businesses within asset management, investment banking and market infrastructure across the US, UK, and continental Europe. Prior to joining Motive Partners, Ashwin was Founding Partner of 7RIDGE, a private markets asset manager invested in fintech and associated transformative technologies.

Previously, Ashwin was Managing Director, Global Head of Group Product and Business Development and a Member of the Executive Leadership Team at Deutsche Börse. Preceding this, Ashwin was a Founding Partner of multi-strategy hedge funds Meru Capital and Old Lane Partners; Managing Director and Head of Rates Trading (Europe) at Bank of America and Head of Rates Trading (USA) at Commerzbank.

Ashwin holds an M.B.A in Finance & Marketing from the University of Chicago.
