Michael Hock joined Motive Partners in 2023 and is a Partner on the Venture Investment team.

Michael is responsible for sourcing and executing investment opportunities with a focus on identifying trends and growth for Motive portfolio companies through his extensive experience as a financial services and technology executive and investor.

Prior to joining Motive, Michael Co-Founded Embedded/Capital, a Berlin based early-stage financial technology investment firm, which was acquired by Motive Partners in February 2023, to form the early-stage arm of the Motive Partners platform. Since 2017, Michael was Managing Director at FinLeap and incharge of steering portfolio growth and professionalizing group operations. Michael led the exits of FinLeap portfolio companies including the majority acquisition of PAIR Finance by PollenStreet Capital and the sale of Penta to the European market leader Qonto.

Prior to this, Michael was Managing Director at Holtzbrinck Digital and Digital Science. He started his career at Siemens in 2000 gaining investment and M&A expertise on a global scale including Siemens Venture Capital, Siemens Mobile and Corporate Finance.

Michael holds an Executive MBA from the Technical University of Munich as well as a Diploma in Business Administration from the Baden-Wuerttemberg Cooperative State University in Stuttgart.
