Paul Walker joined Motive Partners in 2017 and is an Industry Partner and GAC Member. Paul focuses on thematic strategy development, deal origination, execution and value creation for Motive Partners portfolio companies. In parallel, he also advises companies and investors on artificial intelligence and financial technology, providing organizations with guidance in business, technology, people and product strategy. Paul serves as a member of the Board of Directors at OpenFin and Unqork.
Prior to joining Motive Partners, Paul was most recently the Co-Head of Technology at Goldman Sachs and a member of the Partnership Committee and firm-wide Technology Risk Committee. Prior to being appointed Co-Head, he served as the Global Head of Risk and Strategy for Prime Services in the Securities Division, as well as the Global Head of the Core Strats team. Paul joined Goldman Sachs as a Vice President on the FICC Strats team.
Prior to joining Goldman Sachs, Paul worked as a physics researcher at the Max-Planck Institut für Gravitationsphysik and the National Center for Supercomputing Applications. He also previously served as a member of the Board of Directors of the Depository Trust and Clearing Corporation (DTCC) until 2017.
Paul spends his philanthropic energies working with organizations that provide opportunity and social capital to young adults through access to education, science, and critical reasoning. Paul earned a B.A. in Physics from Cornell University and both an M.S. and PhD in Physics from the University of Illinois at Urbana Champaign.
